Stains used to demonstrate the reticulum of immature erythrocytes are called vital stains. New methylene blue stain has many other
areas of use like in evaluating vaginal smears during estrus and examining for blood parasites like heartworm microfilariae. New
methylene blue can be used in wet mount preparation or in the more conventional air dried mount. This stain has many veterinary
