ScaleStop removes the mineral scale that builds up on evaporative cooler cell pads and reduces cooling efficiency. ScaleStop does
not the damage the pads like acids or power washing do. Minerals, found in every type of water, naturally harden as scale that
builds up on cell pads over months or even years. When this happens, the scale blocks the air flow through the flutes of the pads
and reduces the cooling efficiency of the evaporative coolers. The result? Heat stress on your livestock and less than optimum
performance. The scale can become so bad that very costly pad replacements will need to be done, well before the average expected
lifespan of the equipment. A ScaleStop strip is simply placed in the drain basin of the evaporative cooler system once every 30
days until the scale crumbles on the pads and can be gently swept out of the troughs or from the side of the pads. Then a ScaleStop
can be placed in the drain basin as needed, depending on the amount of scale that accumulates in the specific geographic region.
ScaleStop can prevent scale from building up on cell pads, as well as remove existing scale, and keep the pads scale free through
the hot season to minimize heat stress. Cell pads should also be cleaned of scale before the evaporative coolers are shut down at
the end of the summer season so they are ready to turn on and work efficiently when it gets hot next year.
